When I get around to ripping into it, would those ButterBearings be the way to go to make it last for more than 25 years?Ĭlick to expand. Thanks for the encouragement! I have read up on the problems with plated pivots in these movements, but I have also read that the plated pivots went away just before this clock was built. I plan to educate myself before tackling this one, and it will probably just sit until next winter. I am a complete amateur, I've only worked on a couple of Ingraham T&S movements. Glad to know that a replacement movement is available for when I finish doing irreparable damage to this one. I don't really want to go that route, because I kinda bought this thing so I can work on it and get it running myself. The movement seems to be a Hermle, and I see replacements are available for around $400. The clock looses power, it will only run for about 15 min or so. The chimes and hour strike seem to work, although I did have to adjust the hammers a bit.
